Ben’s Bells is a Tucson nonprofit dedicated to promoting intentional kindness through community participation, education programs, and the distribution of ceramic “Be Kind” bells placed throughout the city.

Main Gate studio

Ben’s Bells operates a public studio in the Main Gate Square district near the University of Arizona where volunteers help create the ceramic bells distributed throughout the community.

The studio is located at 816 E University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85719. Visitors can participate in open studio volunteer hours, learn about the organization’s mission, and see how the bells are made.

Through this studio and its downtown location, Ben’s Bells welcomes thousands of volunteers each year who help craft the ceramic pieces that eventually become the bells placed around Tucson.

The organization began after the unexpected loss of a young boy named Ben. Friends and family created ceramic bells in his memory and placed them around Tucson as a way to thank the community for its kindness. What started as a personal act of remembrance grew into a city-wide movement centered on practicing kindness.
